SPIRITUAL GIFTS

According to 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, 28 and Romans 12:6-8

WORD OF WISDOM

A word of wisdom is a word of insight given by the Holy Spirit that provides direction and guidance on what a person ought to do in a specific situation.  

Example: Luke 5:1-11; Acts 6:1-7

 

WORD OF KNOWLEDGE

A word of knowledge is when the Holy Spirit reveals true, specific facts or information to you about someone. 

Example: John 4:1-26; Acts 5:1-11

 

GIFT OF FAITH

The gift of faith is a supernatural assurance, conviction and belief given by the Holy Spirit to know that God will perform and accomplish a specific thing.

Example: Matthew 8:5-13; Acts 3:1-10

 

GIFTS OF HEALING

The gift of healing is (1) the supernatural ability to heal someone of disease, sickness or pain by the power of the Holy Spirit (and if necessary, cast out a demon). The gift of healing can also be (2) the supernatural ability to help bring healing to an individual’s soul (mind, will and emotions).

Example: Mark 3:1-6; John 21:15-19; Acts 5:12-16

 

WORKING OF MIRACLES

The working of miracles is the Spirit-empowered ability to perform an extraordinary thing that demonstrates the raw power and sovereignty of God. 

Example: Matthew 14:13-21; Acts 16:25-34

 

GIFT OF PROPHECY

The gift of prophecy is the ability to speak words that have been revealed to you by the Holy Spirit that bring encouragement, edification and comfort to someone. 

Example: John 16:16-33; Acts 20:1-2

 

DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

The gift of discerning of spirits is when the Holy Spirit reveals to you what spirit is operating behind a person’s words or actions. 

Example: Matthew 16:21-23; Acts 16:16-18

 

GIFT OF VARIOUS TONGUES

The gift of tongues is when the Holy Spirit speaks through you (1) a message in an unknown language that encourages, exhorts and comforts the body, when interpreted. This gift also enables you to (2) speak a message in a foreign language that can be understood by the foreigner. Lastly, this gift can enable you to (3) speak in an unknown tongue for personal edification and prayer unto God.  

Example: 1 Corinthians 14:4-5, 13, 18; Acts 2:1-21; 19:1-7 

 

 

GIFT OF INTERPRETING TONGUES

The gift of interpreting tongues is when the Holy Spirit gives you the interpretation of a tongue so that you can communicate it in the common language of the people for encouragement, exhortation and comfort. 

Example: 1 Corinthians 14:5, 13, 27-28

 

GIFT OF HELPS

The gift of helps is the ability to see a need, through the eyes of the Spirit, and come alongside the person (or ministry) to provide practical (or spiritual) assistance, aid or support.

Example: Matthew 9:35-38; 2 Timothy 4:11

 

GIFT OF ADMINISTRATION

The gift of administration is a Spirit-inspired gift that enables a person to know how to organize, plan and implement procedures that help simplify and streamline things. 

Example: Mark 6:30-44; Acts 2:40-47

 

GIFT OF SERVING

The gift of serving is the Spirit-empowered ability to work and perform different tasks with a high level of intentionality and passion. 

Example: John 13:1-5; Acts 6:1-3

 

GIFT OF EXHORTATION

The gift of exhortation is a gift of the Spirit that enables you to speak words of life that inspire, motivate, persuade, and call people higher. 

Example: John 7:37-39; Acts 11:19-26

 

GIFT OF GIVING

The gift of giving is a Spirit-inspired gift that causes a person to be supernaturally generous, intentional and joyful with the giving of their finances (or other resources) to individuals and larger kingdom works. 

Example: Luke 12:33; 1 Corinthians 8:1-5

 

GIFT OF LEADERSHIP

The gift of leadership is a gift of the Spirit that empowers you to govern, guide, instruct and rally together people in order to move them in the direction God desires. 

Example: Matthew 10:5-42; Acts 15:1-29

 

GIFT OF MERCY

The gift of mercy is when the Holy Spirit manifests deep empathy, care and compassion within you in order to come along side and help someone who is struggling.

Example: John 8:1-11; 2 Corinthians 1:23-2:5
